I had the fortune of looking at two gas bills.

One from December 2020 and December 2021

Almost the same exact thermals used.

The price of thermals did rise but not to make a serious impact.

It is in the Gas Supply Charge where we get ripped off.

About $75 dollars more than last years bill.
At this rate they will get $600-$1,000 more out of me this year.

$90.00 for a ~1100 sq foot apartment, and that's between gas and electric, only because I haven't been cooking as much. Last year my bills were around $150-200 a month during the winter. I don't feel like paying that so made some changes.

Keep my floor lamps off for starters unless I'm actually in the room. lol

$72 last month for national grid natural gas. 100k btu steam heater. probably turned on heat around 2 hours a day avg. Do have a gas stove as well for cooking, maybe also an avg of 2 hour of use per day. this is after a energy affordability credit of $39

imagine how much it would cost if we transitioned to 100% electric trying to heat and cook. Con ed gives zero discounts for electric (no low income/medicaid/etc... discounts)

01/2022 NatGrid $194.73 for an 1118 sqft 1-family house on SI. That works out to roughly $1.987 per cu.ft. of gas. My 01/2021 bill was $174.40 or roughly $1.600 per cu.ft. of gas. That's an 38.7% increase per cubic foot. Thanks Joe Biden!

I was billed $177.96 for Con Ed on 2/4.
I was billed $93.93 for National Grid on 1/20.

I do run cold so when I am home my heat is on at around 72. When we're sleeping, it's set at 66. I do have a combi-boiler.

The electric bill is more outrageous, IMO. It was $115.35 the previous month and $83.85 in December. At least I can say my gas usage has increased because it's been cold but my electric has not.
