Sad way to end one's life, especially when family are living in city, but guess cannot help those who don't want to be helped. Still sad all way around.

Lost her cats, lost her dad, sounds like she didn't have the nicest of brothers (I know it can be very difficult dealing with mentally ill relatives, but, damn, he sounds cold). What a shame.

Anyone dying on the streets and time leading up to their death is a sad story.
What happened to her is not unusual. There are many many people who resort back to their parents house when life fails and if they are lucky, the house is paid off.
Nothing wrong with collecting things, but hoarding is a horrible mental disorder. May she rest now.

Very sad story. She had her own business and had it together most of her life. It sounds like a combination of the business closure, a spiral into mental health issues and no support from family led to this. Its a reminder of how fast things can go downhill for a person. Homelessness is very difficult to escape without a lot of support. Its even worse for an older person too like in this case.

This is a sad story.
I have never ever in my life met a lover of animals to be a bad person.
They have the biggest hearts. I highly doubt she was a criminal. Just homeless.
Once her children ( cats ) were taken her life began to unwind.................

From what I read her family failed her.
They have to live with the guilt.

I hope she has crossed over the rainbow bridge and is surrounded by all her 4 legged furry friends....................R.I.P.

They shut down the economy for over a year. So you couldn’t work.
Mortgages still had to be paid.
Renters could skip paying rent.

Those who could work from home got by fine.
Those who couldn’t work due to lock downs were royally screwed.

I’m really surprised things are not worse than they are.
The right to do would be to freeze mortgage payments and let banks take a hit for once, since they got bailed out. But no. The government works for banks, people, get screwed.

It’s doesn’t take much to lose sanity, hope and everything else in between.

Her father moved out of the apartment in 2015, leaving her with the lease. She lived there but didn't pay for three years until 2018 when she was finally evicted. Those three years had nothing to do with Covid.

Here's the article without a paywall in case you weren't able to read it . https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...&ct=clnk&gl=us

She doesn't sound so nice either. It says "In some of her posts she accused her brother of stealing her cats and her father’s girlfriend of forcing her out of the Utopia Pkwy. apartment."

But also according to article the dad and the girlfriend moved out in 2015 and moved to Florida, and she stayed there without paying rent for another 3 years. So no way the gf forced her out - she got herself evicted for nonpayment is how she got forced out.

Sad and tragic situation. In this case, it sounds like her brother could have helped her more, and that is even more tragic.

Put her up in an apartment if he had money--maybe a 1 bed in a town in the metro area? There are solutions he could've explored, but sounds like he didn't want to be involved.
