Yeah, but that has nothing to do with issuing summonses.

I was riding the bus a few months ago and there were a bunch of us waiting. Bus pulls up and a bunch of teenage black kids were about to get on, the driver was a middle aged white guy. Driver tells the kids to back up. He wouldn't let them on. I'm thinking, "wow, this guy has some balls!" Then he lets all the whites/asians/hispanics get in, we all paid. I go sit down still thinking what balls this guy has. Then after we all paid he says to the black kids, "OK, if I let you in will you promise to settle down and be quiet?" They all say OK and the driver lets them in. None of them paid. Now I realize, we all got suckered into paying. He didn't let the black kids in first because he knew if we saw them get on for free none of us would pay either.

Nah, Schumer made sure MTA got > $6 billion in aid, and more is coming via various other sources such as that infrastructure bill. https://abc7ny.com/mta-nyc-subway-fe...city/11458686/

Long as democrats in Washington, D.C. are in charge, that gravy train will keep on keeping on. Thus MTA will cave to cries how fare increases "harm" the busted including "essential workers" and or those largely POC and other minorities.
