Eventually they're going to have to decide whether they want to make it a safe system to use, or they want to keep catering to a loud minority who say the homeless can't be touched. They need to keep their paying customers happy, or they're going to die a death of a thousand cuts. If they let the homeless run wild like they've been doing, they're done for.

I'm a 6', 30 year old man who has never feared taking the subway at all hours of the day and night, but it's getting so bad now that even I hesitate.

Doesn't matter your height or age, if perp is packing heat or has a blade. Perp has nothing to lose, and you have a lot to lose. And God forbid if there is a racial angle to the altercation, then you're truly screwed. Time to consider Citibike!

Man bludgeoned with hammer after bumping into attacker at Chelsea subway station last night.
Time to uber or use citibikes.

The two men bumped into each other on the 2-line platform at the 14th Street station at Seventh Avenue around 9:15 p.m., sparking the assault, sources said.

The suspect hit the 29-year-old victim in the head several times with a hammer and then fled, according to police.

It's crazy. I go through that station every single day. The transfer tunnel between the L platforms and the 1/2/3 platforms is a magnet for bums hanging out.

COVID became a huge federal bailout to bankrupt organizations.
May young taxpayers somehow learn from this.
