Looks like the woke trolls disappeared when people actually came forward to provide evidence of how hypocritical and useless (actually harmful) this woman was. Doing a few small favors for her district is like peeing on a wildfire. Lets not forget she was one of the major reasons why Amazon abandoned the LIC warehouse. That was 25,000 jobs paying a decent salary! If people think $20-25 is slave wages for people with a minimum skill level and education then you are delusional.

AOC made her bones because she, like other divisive minority leaders (Al Sharpton) have taken advantage of the poor. She knows that if they were to become successful they would have no use for her. She needs them to stay, poor, broke, uneducated and needy so that she could be their hero. Like "this woman fights for us" mentality. When has she ever said anything to the tune of get an education and make something of yourself? When has she ever asked people to help themselves become self sufficient? Never. It's all about what the govt can do for you.

AOC had 100% nothing to do with Amazon leaving the LIC project. She just took credit for it. It's not even her district in which those jobs where situated in.

First, she had everything to do with it: “ 'A number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward,” Amazon said in a statement."

Second, the proposed location was indeed in her district.

Long Island City is in the 12th congressional district, which AOC does not represent.

Also, contrary to the opinion of many people here, the fact of the matter is, she got elected because nobody went out to vote, DeBlasio style. I live in her district, and I yet have to talk to a person (of every ethnicity and religion in this diverse neighborhood of mine) who doesn't think she is an absolute pathetic idiot.

You are correct. AOC's district borders on the 12th. But the neighborhood improvements and opportunities would have extended to her district. The fact that the actual location for the proposed Amazon HQs was not in her district makes it all the more outrageous that she butted in to keep them out.

100%. Her congressional district comprises the 13th City Council District that voted much more Republican this time around (44%) than in 2013 (13%) and in 2017 (29%). So it may just be in this portion of her district however it tells you about the growing pushback against the new general Far-Left trend that has taken over recently.

Now, most of her electorate comes from the Queens portions of her district, they are those who have elected AOC-type of candidates in Astoria, East Elmhurst and Corona, with all the social justice/equity and blah blah blah, which is pretty hard to understand in mostly wealthy District 22 (Astoria). However, in 2013, 11% voted Republican (even less than the Green Party), compared to 27% in 2021 which is more than double-digit.
City Council District 25 also overlapping, went from 99% Democrat in 2017 to 61%.

That may be an early indicator, if not that she is going to lose, that she and her ideology is losing ground and has disappointed her voters, so a more Centrist Democrat, like, say, Eric Adams may not be out of the equation if campaigning against her.

Many get re elected year after year for decades by "serving" their constituents in this way. Unless you live in the district you don't get to even vote let alone decide whether or how they are effective. The voters in the district are the only ones who get get to decide so it really doesn't matter what you think.

Al D'amato was nicknamed Senator Pothole for his delivery of constituent services and helpng citizens with their individual needs. He wore the nickname as a badge of honor. He was also very opinionated and controversial for his opinions.
Exactly this. It's a well-oiled system. Politicians at every level have pretty much agreed to take any citizen complaint and steer it to where it needs to go for action. This way, citizen gets the service, and whoever takes the call gets credit for making it happen. That's how to win an election, and it's not isolated to AOC or Congress. (As an aside, as a former municipal employee it was also extremely frustrating because my department would get bombarded with complaints for things outside of our purview, typically after a Civic association meeting or meet and greet where a councilman would just tell everyone to "call my office about it.")

As far as the national press and TV, has anyone considered the possibility that the Party wants certain members to be outspoken to draw attention, while the inner circle uses the cover to do their actual business?
