The 31-year-old European visitor was approached by an armed robber at West 103rd Street and West End Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday who demanded he turn over his cell phone, cops said.
The victim, who was on his way home from a party, refused to comply and attempted to walk away, authorities said.
“He just kept walking, and the guy shot him,” a police source said.
Two Upper West Side men interviewed on Ch.2 news last night -- making excuses for the shooter -- "people in need" "too many guns in this country" (that shoot themselves apparently. Typical.
There has always been under-reported/unreported crime but I think there are signs that it's becoming significant. There are more and more reports lately of very long response times to what one would think are high priority incidents (for example the 20 minutes response time to the Queens elementary school incident last week).
There is no doubt that NYC has been spiraling down in terms of safety and other qol measures since 2015, which is accelerating since BLM emergence and that Minnesota trash was eliminated from their street.
It is painful and dizzying for normal functioning civilians watching this long extended deterioration to date with no sightings of ending any time soon. To avoid the adverse impact on your emotional and mental happiness, tune away from the news and focus on other positive events happening in life, although they are understandably hard to find these days when demons are in political control both locally and nationally.
