I was watching a movie yesterday, Marathon Man, 1976, with Dustin Hoffman and noticed a restaurant in one of the shots. I like 70s dark movies especially if they are in NY.
The restaurant in question was Bavarian Inn.

The movie wasn’t great itself, but I got my fix regardless. Not as good as French Connection or 7 Ups.
Some info I dug up is here for anyone interested.

Lost City: A Yorkville Postcard.

Curious if anyone here know anything about it or has stories.

Also, please post your favorite dark films of the 60s and 70s and maybe a bit of early 80s based in or near NY as well if you have any.

Thanks.

For those who love old bars and restaurants. http://lostnewyorkcity.blogspot.com/

And now all we have is Starbucks and Chipotles on every corner.

Interesting, OP. I wish there are more fun subjects like this on c-d.

Rosemary’s Baby (1968): shot in Dakota.

Taxi Driver (1976)

Dress to Kill (1980)

Mean Street (1973)

Gloria (1980)

I agree on the Starbucks, Chipotle’s, may I add Duane Reade, Walgreen and Chase Manhattan?!

Thanks folks. Will check those out. Some of them I’ve seen.

Romeo is Bleeding was watched recently too. Not the best, but still cool.
