This weekend is one of those weekend where the 7 train is not going to Manhattan AND also going express only in the Manhattan bound direction. One disruption is already inconvenient as it is; why must they modify TWO things?? Does service need to me this messy on the weekends?

When else should they make modifications (just late at night?)? I assume modifying 2 things at once causes less disruptions in the long run and then modifying things separately.

I don't think so. These modification of service have been going on for the past 25 years. Will this ever finish?

Probably not. Ever see the size of the average MTA work crew? The MTA is a jobs program, a very lucrative jobs program.

I do not mind weekend modifications if it means the weekdays have no modification other than midday service when everyone is at work and school.

I have a friend who works some Saturdays and really isn't happy when the 7 isn't running normally.

The interesting thing is, when I was in high school, the 7 train was still doing their midday service around 3pm when I was trying to get home from school. So it used to be hell commuting back home everyday from school. And I was 14 years old at the time. I'm now 37, so you can only imagine how long the 7 train has been working on these modifications.

Haven't you learned there are no thinking brains at the MTA or in municipal government?

100% Incompetence is my guess.

There's no reason they're still working on the 7 line, it's been YEARS since they finished the signal update
