The company looked at 76 of the largest cities in the United States to determine what a $100,000 salary is actually worth after taxes. It adjusted those figures based on the after-tax amount and cost of living in each of them.
The findings may be even more staggering than you thought. According to SmartAsset's data, a $100,000 annual salary in New York City amounts to only $35,791 when those factors are considered.
What’s funny and what I think we all already knew is that it seems that all of the heavily democrat locations have the lowest incomes and the least democrat locations have the highest incomes.

That's not true and that's not really what the article is saying but I'll let you cook.
You did not provide data. You instead provided a study. Most of these studies are actually hilarious and non-credible.
Also I make 6 figures. I do not feel poor at all which is what 36K is to me. Instead, just admit you have bad money habits instead of using a baseless study to hide your accountability.
Manhattan is the bluest borough. North Brooklyn ( Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, etc) is very blue. Staten Island leans more red.
Now - where will you find the most expensive zip codes to live in ? This isn’t to pick on SI - it’s great that living there is more affordable overall. I easily fact checked your misleading account about where *most* of wealth is.
This isn't of any relevance unless you make 100K regardless of where you live.
You are 100x more likely to have a 100,000 $ job in New York City than Memphis, TN.
So, while the cost of living is radically better--- it doesn't matter if a Director Position only pays $80k there vs $210k in NYC.
For those whose work no longer requires them to be in ay specific place- then certainly, NYC likely may be very low on the list of appealing spots. Wages to COL comparisons are far more telling than this.
