But Fedders Houses have bigger issues, like the visible Fedders logo, and awful looking build (pointless pitched roof, no ornamentation, blocky, front driveway, etc.).
actually, window units don't look nice at all.
the in the wall sleeve for the a/c is the best, it is just that the words Fedders o rFredrich have to be printed on it, as opposed to a cover that can blend into a building without any name on it would look better.
the split units look horrible on the outside of the newer homes with 5-12 huge boxes hung on brackets then the tubing to the different rooms, that really looks terrible.

Which matters zero on a 95° hot humid summer day!! Many older 1 & 2 family homes on Staten Island have installed those split systems because in some older homes it's sometimes impossible to install central air-conditioning ductwork.
Most of the old brownstones are run down crappy firetraps. Better the get demolished for modern buildgings, which can look good if some effort is put toward the aesthetics.

That is nonsense! Brownstones and limestones are awesome, and so far very few new buildings match them aesthetically.

Thank you, Robert Moses. But, with them brownstones at $2-3 million, those buildings are not getting demolished.

I wasnt saying they are bad, they are just really ugly all attached to the side of the buildings.

Yep. Many of them are actually more like 10 million.
