I came across this series, "Neighborhood Slice" while watching the NYC Life channel (channel 25 on Spectrum) and found it quite compelling. Each episode highlights a certain area/neighborhood in NYC. I found the episode on Belmont in the Bronx particularly interesting as well as the one on Crown Heights having never been to the area. Other episodes highlight Flushing, Jackson Heights, Sugar Hill.
I googled to see if I could stream the whole series and found this website. You may want to check it out.
