I don't think Tri-State is fitting when there's 4 states in the Metro, Quad-State area doesn't sound nice.
How about "YorEnnsylSeyCut" lol.
lol. At least it's more accurate than Tri-State.
To bad "Empire" didn't stick when they tried it out.
LA includes Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, yet you can say your from LA, even if your 70 miles out in Lancaster or something. Can't do that in New York. Without Southern CT and Northern/Central NJ and the Poconos New York City wouldn't even be a shadow of what it is. Just those areas alone almost equal the population of Chicagoland and probably surpasses the economic clout of all of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Just another idea for the area. While seen in Comic books, it is accurate in portrayel. I think "Metropolis" sounds decent as well. An equivalent would be Metroplex for Dallas.
I fail to see how Connecticut is more tied to NY than NJ is, in any way, shape, or form.
As a native jersyite it is known that the Northern portion of Jersey is the unofficial 6th borough. As a matter of fact parts of North Jersey is more apart of NYC than Staten Island. YES, I SAID IT!!!!!!
