it depends if i shoot raw or jpeg. the point and shoot has all enhancements done in camera i rarely edit those.. with our nikon dslrs we shoot raw usually and everything is done later on in the computer
as far as getting the colors to pop that depends alot on getting the correct exposure and even going a little darker... setting the camera to a vivid setting and getting to much exposure still leaves a washed out look.
Wondeful pics you have a knack for street photography. I like touring NYC like a tourist myself although I've spent most of my life here. It can be so easy to take it for granted, but it really is an incredible city.
marilyn and i were in mid-town for a show and left all our normal photography gear home . all we took is a little point and shoot, a canon sd880.
we get e-mails all the time asking what camera we use that gives us the fabulous look to the photos we post and we always reply its not the camera at all. its all about the lighting, the composition and the settings . sooo all of these were taken with a point and shoot and except for some cropping are right out of camera .
Great photos, thank you for sharing.
I think you should print and frame the hot-dog cart scene.
And who is the guy with those girls? Is he competing with the Naked Cowboy?
I love your pictures, so colorful, New York City is a fantastic place to wander around. Having been out of NY was many years, its great that you can bring it back to me via pictures. Your work is beautiful
