Thank you everyone for the updates! I am in the low hundreds so hope within 3 to 5 years or so. It's worth the wait. This is basically a good retirement plan. Just think of all the extra money you save in housing costs which you can apply to your future. Good luck everyone!

I am basically looking ahead to retirement too by getting in here (or another Mitchell-Lama), not so much the saving money now (although that helps too) but being housing/rent secure down the line when I do retire (not for another 10-15 years though).
I like that idea a LOT ^^^. If you already own a home, sell it when you retire for market value then buy a Mitchell Lama and pay the maintenance fee every month with the money from selling your old home. I'm 31 so I probably shouldn't put my name on any more lists yet if that's gonna be my plan
