The hubby quit his job of 21 years-long story there, you know how family owned businesses can be and if you not family how it can go. So instead of dying of stress and abuse from a dictator he's now job hunting. Can anyone recommend a good place to have one done? He's never needed one before-came into this job directly after his time in the service ended. He's been in the ready mix/concrete industry for all these years and isn't sure what he wants next or what his job skills might fit. Should he consider working with a job coach? He's got 21 years dispatching, weigh master license, and NYS certification for asphalt testing. There isn't a whole lot of these industries around the area-more down south. We are unable to relocate because I have a elderly parent who's ill. Once he's got a resume, is Monster the best place to have it listed? Any advice would be appreciated that I can pass along or places that do resumes in the Poughkeepsie area.

Thanks!

I have never heard of hiring someone to make a resume for you.

Search on yahoo, there are templates available that give you a general idea of what you will want to put onto your resume and they have formatted in a nice way.

As far as the actual job hunting goes, Monster.com and Craigslist.org are both good sites. Make sure you guys stick with it and spend a couple hours in front of the computer job searching every day. Dont just stick the resume up there and hope someone calls.

Best of luck to you guys

Thanks for the help, he's been searching Craigslist daily-just nothing coming up in our area-lots down south and in the midwest though. I'll try making him a resume with the sites you suggested-better than the ones that are with Office 2003 I bet.

Any suggestions about how to put it out there once it's done-key words that will make it more searchable I presume right? He's still not sure if he should stay within the Readymix industry or try something different. He's reading "What Color Is Your Parachute" to help him organize his skills and maybe give him some insight about how to change things up.

Thanks for the help!
