lol It probably means you look sweet and bookish. Stupid guys say this because they are angry at you for being out of their league, intellectually or otherwise. Pay it no mind, young grasshopper.
As an aside, I once dated a librarian guy. He was 6'4" and totally gorgeous. He was a model with social anxiety. He made me sad though.

Maybe he meant, that you looked like a Libertarian? I've seen many Librarians and they all look different to me, but I don't think I ever saw a Librarian in a tank top. "Librarians in Tank Tops" could be a smart marketing move for most libraries.

It definitely does not mean you are attractive, well at least not to me anyway. I consider Librarians to be smart, funny, articulate and cute. It is a compliment, however, if you doubt the validity of the words that were spoken, maybe next time you might inquire as to the actual meaning of those words from the very person that spoke them. This would alleviate any confusion next time.
