Sometimes it seems like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. If he had chattered to everyone about his ex-wives and how much money he made, everyone would have said he was a jerk. He says nothing and everybody says he's a jerk...whatcha gonna do....?

I went to the restroom and overheard a harsh conversation between my sister and the new husband about her opinion that he was not trying hard enough to be nice. They thought no one was around. I wish I could describe to him how he was coming across.
He is a very successful sales executive and I doubt anyone in the family intimidated him or he was shy, he just acted like he was better than us.
Is this your sister who died?
Why would she even care? It is your sister-in-law who is married to him. Did you forget what you first posted?
So after the event my wife's elderly mother asked me, "So what do you think of Sue's new husband Dave?" How should I respond and how should I interact with Dave in future events?
So, what did you tell her?
Surely it wasn't, "Excuse me and let me get back to you on that. I have to go ask an Internet forum full of strangers for an answer first."
Yet another thread in the same tired old vein from the indefatigable OP. I rather doubt that your mother in law (who must be in her mid to late 80s) would ask your opinion about anyone in the family given your intense dislike and criticism of every single one of 'em.
Maybe we should suggest some hobbies?
What do we know about the OP? Oh wait only fiction.
What really left an impression on me is how unfriendly the new husband (Dave) was at the event to introduce him to the extended family.
Lol. He's been friendly enough to get himself four different wives.
