Yeah, there are thousands of us out there. We wouldn't have it any other way. Honest.
Thousands? That many?
(Thanks to you people defending California and other states. First I read a comment about how people don't so much think we'll fall off into the ocean after "the big one," as hope we do, and now this. Geez. lol)
Anyway, here in California, we see people's cars broken down for some reason or other in the parking lot of our grocery store all the time. People are always stopping to ask if they need help. In fact, I see it wherever I go, other states, whatever, in whatever situation. There are always people who will come along and not only help, but offer in the first place.
My daughter is visiting and we went to lunch at a new restaurant. Pulling into the parking area, I hit a curb hard and when we finished lunch we discovered a flat on that same tire. I usually keep a phone book in the car, but apparently had removed it. We sat in the car awhile talking about what to do, then my daughter went back into the restaurant to get a number from the cashier. While she was talking with him 2 customers overheard the conversation and after paying their bill, they walked over to my car and asked if I had a spare?
In a few short minutes they had us ready to go. The spare needed a little air, so we got that and headed across town to a place to repair the tire. Turns out I'd ruined the tire when hitting the curb, so I bought 2 new tires, then we went home. The men who changed the flat would not accept pay. I'm so impressed by their cheerful helpfulnessl. I'm announcing that chivalry is alive and well in Oklahoma.
LOL!! While there's no need to put a sack over my head, I'm not that hot. People have helped even me.
