It is a personal choice and one which the individual needs to make. I don't think any age is "too old" to have a roommate. I have known people who were senior citizens and had roommates. This day and age, there are many advantages to having a roommate. As long as the people are compatible, respectful of one another, responsible, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being roommates and there is certainly nothing to be ashamed of in doing so.

I'm 30 and I'm too old to be living with a roommate. Ever try dating when you live in a tiny room in a house shared with 3 other guys? It just is not practical.

There is no age limit to having a roommate. Some places rent is sky high and some people simply cant afford living on their own

Dating is weird, luckily I'm a woman and most guys early to mid 30s have their own place. It's not bad, but sometimes it's nice to have a guy at my place so I don't have to drive over

Spring for an occasional motel if the situation comes up. If you can't afford to do that then you can't afford to date.

Dating can be done with housemates. You don't want someone who has a problem with that anyway...

Not anymore. I pay that much for a shared spaced. I would move to suburbia, but I have a lot of things that commit me to city living(networking and volunteering) so it doesn't make sense to move to a cheaper place far away from important activities and my social outlet.

I would date a guy who lives with roomies and works towards getting more income and then moving out.

I read enough to see that he never seemed to care enough to get a better job. Only now that his friends are buying homes he realizes how far behind he is. If they are buying homes there isn't the too expensive an area and have to have a roommate excuse.

There is nothing wrong with doing it out of necessity when you are old. If you are 30 and want to live alone and can't, you better take a good look at yourself.
