Maybe I should change my cutoff to age 70. There was a time when getting drunk was mostly a male thing, often at bars where women were unwelcome.

Ah, so this is a "women shouldn't drink" thing? You could've said that from the beginning.
Anyway, I went into this thinking most adults have gotten drunk (except for women over 60) .
Lots of data out there actually indicating that older people (male and female) can imbibe quite a bit due to various factors. Some may self-medicate due to feelings of isolation, boredom, or depression in retirement and older age. Others simply do it to have fun, pass the time, and socialize. I have retired relatives in FL. who have talked about the heavy drinking/happy hour/party culture amongst retirees down in Naples.

But it isn't about that. My personal opinion, which this thread isn't meant to be about, is that nobody should drink. Too many lies about me going around, much of it spread by someone I should've reported long ago.
I gave myself alcohol poisoning at age 14 & have only drank socially & sparingly since. I’m a total lightweight (cheap date) & when/if I do drink I get the allergic/flush response of huge purple blotches on my chest so, yeah; not attractive.
I can honestly say I have never driven under the influence.
BTW, I find the Sleepy Time teas can give strange mildly psychedelic dreams....especially the Throat Tamer Sleepy Time. Last night, I dreamed of a conversation with a poor abandoned schnauzer found in an abandoned house when I wandered off from a meal out at a restaurant. Something in the Throat Tamer tea must really stir up the subconscious!
But to address the question, I would imagine most have certainly imbibed too much while out in front of others at least a few times in their life.
OT I know but thank you! I've started drinking the sleepy time extra lately and my dreams have been more vibes and a bit odd. So nice to know it might not be me going nuts.
