That's right. Rude is when someone laughs at another person's kid b/c he didn't have anyone to go Trick-or-Treating with.

Actually yes. Country folk are typically more considerate.

Artsyguy - I must live a sheltered life LOL to think this is what I call "rude". Actually I grew up in Ohio, where you can get in a fight b/c someone doesn't like the way you look at them. Trust me I've had my fill of "rude".

But I did say it was "petty"...I was only speaking out of frustration. In retrospect there are certainly more important things to post about. I don't know why I got so mad about something like that.

So sorry this happened to you in ILM ... which is one of my favorite places to visit. When overnighting there ... our company puts us up at the Hilton down on the Cape Fear River ... downtown. I've always had a nice, pleasant and rewarding experience.

I've worked with the travelling public for the past 34 years ... America (in some ways) has turned into the [rude/crude] capital of the world. For the most part, Americans are good people...perhaps our near future may be brighter and a bit more sensible?

However it's much WORSE in certain parts of the country than others...the Southeast is IMO the absolute worst in the USA in regards to inappropriate manners, hatreds towards others and a whole list of other attrocities that I don't care to mention!

I called one of my patients one day to set up a time for a visit...someone picked up the phone, and belched/ burped in my ear, then hung up!
How attractive is that?
