Lets face it...all of us here are chatting online New Year's Eve, which means we're lonely without friends.
Well at least you're honest. The interesting thing is that each person in that situation is there for a different reason, isn't it? Some are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Others are in a country where they don't speak the language. Others are shy. Others have hobbies and interests that don't jive with what's going on around them ...
Not everyone who is alone is lonely. I actually choose to live life this way. I don't open up to a lot of people in person, and don't like having many people who are close to me. Only one at any given time.
You're one of the lucky few who are content to be alone. Most people can't live like that.

I'd go out and meet up with my friends but OH WAIT! They all moved away years ago! And that is not a coincidence. Frankly, I don't want to meet anyone around here. I'm just standing by until I can move away - again.
