A good agent would be giving you a plan for selling in a bad economy. A bad agent uses a bad economy as an excuse for not doing their job you are paying them to do. Get rid of him/her.
I was on another board and I was talking about the diversity of Charlotte. Which area do you think is more diverse? My guess is the metro of the Triangle is more diverse than Greater Charlotte, but Charlotte is more diverse than both Raleigh and Durham. However, Durham has the highest concentration of African-Americans. What do y'all think?
Races in Charlotte:
White Non-Hispanic (55.1%)
Black (32.7%)
Hispanic (7.4%)
Other race (3.6%)
Two or more races (1.7%)
Asian Indian (0.9%)
Vietnamese (0.8%)
American Indian (0.7%)
Other Asian (0.7%)

White Non-Hispanic (60.3%)

Other race (3.2%)

Asian Indian (0.9%)
American Indian (0.8%)
Chinese (0.7%)
Vietnamese (0.6%)

carolinadreamin' - In terms of metro populations, no it's not misleading. But in terms of City populations it is the ONLY difference. Just add Cary's population to Raleigh (390,000) + (130,000)=520,000. at the same time subtract Cary's population from Charlotte because it would have the same effect on Charlotte's pop. if it was in Mecklenburg County. (670,000)-(130,000)=540,000.
Mecklenburg: 890,515
Wake: 866,410
I don't follow you. Charlotte's population is now estimated to be around 700k. As you can see there are towns in Mecklenburg county that are not included in Charlotte's population figures.

Not any towns anywhere close to the population of Cary. You just said it yourself, Charlotte makes up around 700,000 of the 890,000 in Mecklenburg County. Raleigh only accounts for around 400,000 of the 865,000 in Wake County.
It's well known that Charlotte makes up a large portion of Meck county. I don't really think it matters as bigger doesn't always equal better. I was just confused by the add Cary + Raleigh number I've seen posted lately.
that is true the Piedmont Triad is growing to that the research triangle is becoming and has been there are plenty of industrial parks and research areas popping up through the triad mostly Greensboro and Winston Salem although high point is not as strong as you could sat in the triad it is trying to focus on getting rid of the old image high point has had for awhile and bringing revitalization to downtown and basically renovating everything here are a few pics of what before and now:

i just hope High Point dont wind up playing catch-up but over all the triad is another important part of NC!
Raleigh's best downtown event (that I have attended) is the "acorn drop" at New Years.
That is an event that is worth seeing at least once. It used to take place in the Fayetteville Street Mall area. I am not sure where it is now since Fayetteville Street has been opened to vehicle traffic. New Years in Raleigh always seem to draw a big crowd.
It still takes place on Fayetteville Street. They close the street down for it as they do several other events during the year. I don't really think of Fayetteville Street as a conventional street really. It's more/less flex space. When there is no event it serves as a street, else the city deems it a giant pavilion.

Okay... I had to read this a few times since it's one long run on sentence. Also, it took me a few times to get the gist of what is being said.
I am glad to see the Triad move toward new economic ventures. It's taken its lumps over the last few decades with the loss of jobs in many of North Carolina's traditional industries. When my family moved to Raleigh in the early 70s, the Triad was significantly bigger than the Triangle. It's good to see it regain its footing! Congrats Triad!
Are the day's numbered for Raleigh's stellar school system?
Will Raleigh's system soon look just like Charlotte's, with high poverty, under performing, inner city schools?
I guess we'll find out in a few days.
Every time I listen to convervative talk show hosts in Charlotte covet Raleigh's school system, I always want to call in and say, "Uhh, you do realize they still bus their students up there????"
