Did ya'll miss me? This thread seemed to die after I left, except for the few Charlotte folks who kept recycling the same uptown and trolley car photos and thumb-on-the-scale jobs and population stats as if trying to convince one another their city was all that desirable of a place to live. FAIL. lol
No, it didn't die. It just simply went back to a normal discussion thread. I'm sure no one who follows this forum would have any issue reading into what raleigh has going on. It's our capital, no one here thinks low of Raleigh, but honestly I skip over your posts. You like to mix your insightful links and information with trashy repetitive material. It is very annoying! At least put your self to good use and post some pictures of Raleigh.
Experiment: Poll 10 people on the street and ask them, what metro sounds more desirable, "Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill" or "Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill".
Betcha the 1 out of 10 that said "Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill" didn't understand the question, lol !
"Global investment banker Credit Suisse is planning a 25 percent expansion – one that will involve an entirely new space in addition to its current footprint in Research Triangle Park. Rob Shafir, CEO for the Americas, announced the move personally in front of the 1,600-employee local headcount Thursday while celebrating the firm’s 10-year anniversary in Research Triangle Park. Credit Suisse expanded here “as a response to the events of 9/11,” Shafir says. The bank was looking to create another center outside of New York. But no one predicted how much they’d grow here, says site lead Jim Captain, who moved here with the expansion from New York. “When you start these things, you have a vision that says you start small,” he says. “Then you develop into something bigger and better. ... But we are moving some really high-end jobs out of New York. This is a little bit better than we might have envisioned in the early days.”
Shafir says as the firm is moving more high-end jobs here, it’s exporting “commoditized” jobs with simpler functions to other parts of the company. The goal is to capitalize on the high-tech talent coming out of N.C. State University.
Captain says the firm has multiple functions in RTP, everything from risk management to complex financial jobs.
Plans for have not been finalized for the new space. A site has been identified, but Shafir provides little details other than to confirm it’s in the Triangle. Real estate professionals were working out space concerns, he says. While the execs say the expansion will result in a 25 percent boost to that 1,600 headcount, an exact time frame wasn’t given. “As soon as possible,” says Captain. Captain, who remembers the early days, when Credit Suisse was in a spare Cisco building across the street, says it’s been a fabulous ride in RTP."
Welcome back to my alter ego!!!!!! Or welcome back to myself lol.
I missed you brother. Keep giving the echo-chamber he**
Lol, it's rather obvious that your one and the same person...., but it's entertaining at times to say the least. And it's the internet, you can be as many people as you so desire.
