I'm looking for recommended hotels along route 95 in North Carolina. I'm making a drive from New Jersey to Florida and want to stop at the half way point, which would be North Carolina. I need a pet friendly hotel for my dog, and I'm also looking for a hotel that is safe and clean. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I don't want anything that is far from 95.

Smithfield and Selma have many hotels designed for the interstate traveler. We found a couple places from a web site called Pet Friendly Hotels - Pet Vacations . We haven't used the places yet, but a couple examples are the Baymont and Super 8 in Smithfield, and the Quality Inn in Selma. You can look up the prices for when you travel, but my listings from last year show them under $70/night, except for the Baymont which was $79.

There will be lots of outlet mall shopping and restaurants if you have time to stop. Smithfield is a small town surrounded by farm country. I'd suggest not leaving anything valuable in the car, but the area is fairly safe.

Fayetteville-Cedar Creek Road, Exit 49, is a nice interchange---and no, you're NOT in Fayetteville-proper--very rural area. But lots of hotels, lots of restaurants. We always see a lot of people with pets at the Red Roof Inn next to Cracker Barrel...not sure if they accept pets or not, but again, always seem to see lots of people with them out there.
