Its still well within walking distance but whatever floats your boat. Hell everything in center city is within walking distance to put it bluntly. There's a compare foods being built as we speak in uptown and a Harris teeter already established.
Actually, its Whole Foods. Can we please let this go? Again, I wasn't knocking Charlotte. I'm pointing out the futility of expecting downtown G'boro to get a Walmart or full size grocery store. I'm sure you can appreciate that.

Thanks for the correction, I thought I changed it I don't know about a Walmart but I'm sure Gboro can support a urban target how we have in midtown.
Ok we all know Charlotte has a lot Can we please get back on track, please and thank you!
Oh please Atowwn no one was trying to booster Charlotte lol. This is about development projects in North Carolina. The op never said anything about future project's or discussing the possibility.
Not everyone can walk. We were on the Lynx Blue Line going uptown. At Woodlawn station a woman came on board in wheelchair. She told she goes to Aldi for her groceries. When we got to East_west Station in SouthEnd she got off where she lives.
Good public transportation is just as important as having a retail store near by.
I grew up there, and I love it, but there's no way downtown G'boro has the market to support something like that.
I could see something like Charlotte's Target in Downtown Greensboro if it weren't for the Lawndale Target just up the street. So yeah, it's not gonna happen.
Greensboro has more people (US Census used 291,032) now, than Charlotte had in 1970 (241,148).
Give Greensboro 47 years and there will be no talking about what is not in downtown.
