Note the old photo showing the old downtown waterfront
Thanks for the update. I like this project and I can't wait to see it completed. I have to admit that I don't visit that side of Downtown Wilmington much, but I really want to - I want to visit the train museum with my son

As far as Carroll at Bellemeade, it's really the first downtown apartment complex that has a true dense urban layout. Roy Carroll knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.
Your updates are always appreciated. The area around the ballpark has always been the target for the next urban development phase in Downtown GSO and I am glad to see it finally materialize. I recall the original vision (Bellemeade Village) and how upset I was that it wasn't moving forward, but I am finally rewarded for not losing hope Roy Carroll has done amazing things for Downtown GSO and I hope he continues full speed ahead with more of his visions. Hopefully, he will be able to do more with the parcels East of Elm Str, as there is plenty of room there, particularly for high-rise development.

South side is going to look very good after the 2 main midrise buildings are completed which will connect the older midrises to the highrises.

Pretty cool but the largest hotel in the state is Harrahs Casino hotel in Cherokee with 1,108 rooms followed by the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons with 1,011 rooms and also the tallest hotel in the state. The only two hotels in the state with over 1,000 rooms. The Westin Charlotte is the third largest hotel in the state with 700 rooms. Winston-Salem once had a 700 room Adam's Mark hotel until it closed and the two buildings were divided into two hotels (Marriott and Embassy Suites)

Harrahs Cherokee - largest

Sheraton Greensboro - 2nd largest.

Westin Charlotte - 3rd largest

ITBinsider is reporting that the NC history Museum in downtown Raleigh is planning a $200m renovation and expansion across the street that will double it's size, include underground parking, and a pedestrian bridge over Wilmington street to connect the two buildings similiar to the science museum setup.

I have not seen any info on Legacy Union Hotel, but when all hotels that are announce and built, Uptown Charlotte, it will in nave 32 hotels. At present time there are 2,310 hotel rooms are under construction in uptown Charlotte.

I would say the most hotels in any city in NC downtown.

Charlotte wants to build a 1,000 room uptown, but it is on hold.
Legacy Union web site.
http://www.legacyunioncharlotte.com/news/

When all Hotels are built in this cycle, Charlotte will Have about 7,893 rooms in uptown.

Yeah, downtown Raleigh needs more hotel space and more boutique hotels. It doesn't have anything like the 21c Museum Hotel and The Durham Hotel (and Unscripted) in downtown Durham. Raleigh's hotels are kinda stuffy and boring for the most part
