I live in the 9th district so I'll be re-voting for McCready. However, if Mr. Rushing supports marijuana legalization, he just might have an advantage. "Get Stoned with Stoney" could be his campaign theme. Stranger things!
Looks as if Todd Johnson, Union County's contribution to questionable politics is also getting deeply involved in the action.
From the article: "There is still very much a live, ongoing investigation," Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman said, noting more charges might be brought against Dowless and his co-defendants or new charges filed against others.
Oh, this is going to be one fun primary and electoral period, ain't it? And I'll love hearing Boss Hogg defend those who are being charged in the process.
They alway say a little truth makes a joke a bit funnier. You've definitely got me laughing.
After seeing some reports on WBTV about past election results in Bladen County, it appears Todd the WonderBoy availed himself to the Dowless Absentee Ballot Method. Further investigation may make it clearer that Todd got his Johnson caught in the voting crack in past primaries. A "Painful Truth" (foreword by Rev. Mark Harris) for sure!

This primary already is a train wreck, at least on the Republican side. From the article:
The race for North Carolina's 9th Congressional District features a crowded field of Republicans, including one candidate the state GOP says is a Democrat in thin disguise.
This is not Chris Anglin's first run as a Republican. The Raleigh attorney used a loophole in GOP-backed legislation and switched his party affiliation, re-registering with the Republican party, to run for the state Supreme Court.
"He partnered with Democrats in a sneaky, dirty way to fool the electorate," said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the North Carolina Republican Party.
Woodhouse said Anglin's candidacy was meant to siphon votes in the 2018 midterm elections from another Republican candidate: incumbent Justice Barbara Jackson. Jackson ended up losing to Democrat Anita Earls.
But Woodhouse said just because Anglin has an "R" next to his name on a ballot, doesn't mean the state GOP has to treat him like a member of the party.
"That doesn't require us to do anything other than, morally, to call out the fraud that he is," Woodhouse said, in a telephone interview.
Dallas Woodhouse will be lucky if he doesn't end up in "The Big House" along with a few Bladen County residents. Maybe the "Cryin' Pastor" Mark Harris, will come visit them and say a prayer.
