The easiest thing to do is hire a translator & tell them you don't speak English. The translator will answer all the questions for you. I renewed my license a few weeks ago. I had to read a line of letters & identify 12 street signs.

I took the test not long ago, I did not study, but passed. I guess I got lucky, because I do remember the test being difficult due to the variety of topics on the test. My lesson, I should not have taken the test for granted, I should have respected what I was doing and prepared.

I don't remember our DMV written test being all that hard. Most we're common sense to me. But that was when I was 15 and I'm 23 now. So they must have changed it dramatically.

I just took the test this morning. Coming from Europe I had to take the WHOLE test. The test tells you what questions you got wrong.
And honestly, I just grazed the handbook they have online. The rest was common sense.
It took 45 minutes from the time I walked in till the time I was done and had my license in hand.

While there are certainly some cake questions, there are enough not-so-easy ones to make you fail if you don't get them right. You only need to miss 5 to fail...out of what, 25 total?

For crying out loud. There's nothing tricky there. I read the book online the night before I took the test a couple of weeks ago and passed just fine.
Just read the darn book. They aren't looking for rocket science.
