I was paying state taxes too. I even ended my emails asking for a loan, just until they can work this issue out.

New breed of Americans going hungry & failing as legislators fail them. Not since the Great Depression has this kind of assistance been as urgently needed.

Here's my thoughts:

Email and call twice as much as you did in the last few days.

Our story is out there RIGHT NOW. Tomorrow it will be yesterday's news. Representatives are bracing today for impact and public outcry. If the outcry doesn't come, silence in their mind is acceptance and they will believe they are doing a good job.

Email and call NOW and Often!!

I just sent an email, NOT as an unemployed but as a citizen to let them know that I just read a story in the paper and I'm not happy.

Email and call NOW and Often!!

I bet the Governor's mansion has a lot of room for a tent city. If I get evicted might be a nice place to live anyone want to join me?

I own my home and vehicle thank God- deed and title in hand. I don't know how but I managed to pay my state and federal taxes in April and property taxes got paid too. I'm so scared because of owning these things out right that if I were to get in arears on these things that I would be one of the first people the govmt would go after to get their money. Easy target feeling like a scared rabbit in the middle of a pack of hungry wolves. It's hard to remain confident and exude such to get a job with the kinda stress we feel.

I know now how our vets felt when they came home from Viet Nam. We haven't done anything wrong- just want to live and have the opportunity to be thrive.

Make sure we ask them why for $432.00 a day of the taxpayers money, not the federal allotted funds that are allotted to us for a pittance of what they make can't they concentrate on what we need? You can't tax those who have nothing left. I don't know about you but I was still being taxed by the state when I was receiving unemployment.

numbers link again for the House North Carolina General Assembly - House Telephone and Office Assignments (2011-2012 Session)

Great idea I just sent out an email saying the NC lawmakers are making the news nationally, and it is embarrassing for me as a citizen of this state.

I agree with EBNOW. Let's write and call as outraged citizens, not as those being directly affected by their nonsense. I'm sure we would have more clout with them in that position.
