I recently acquired a job in downtown Scranton, PA, and will be moving to the area in a few months. I am a 22 year old college graduate looking for an upbeat place to live. I am interested in actual apartment complexes, yet know nothing about the area.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to start looking? The only apartment complex I found recently was "The Lofts at the Mill" and it looked nice.

Thanks for the help!

Connell Lofts are the place to be downtown, they are also building some more Lofts on Franklin St.

What kind of work are you doing downtown?

The Mill is a litte removed from the downtown. Not by much, but not walkable. Many players from the local AAA farm team stay there. I think the rent is in the $800s for a studio apt.

The Connell is right in the heart of the downtown on Washington Ave. They had started studios at $550, but as demand increased, the prices went up. Last I heard all the studios were gone, even with a rate hike.

You may want to try the Brooks Buillding. It's right next to the Connell and they are adding 15 new apts right now. I'll post the phone number for you on Monday. I think the units are on the smaller side so they should be economical.

There is also the Jermyn but it's mostly older people.

This is nice a nice location if you are a runner. Lake Scranton is a great place to walk/jog/run. It is not 'downtown' though and would mean a short drive to most things. It depends on what you seek.
