I have been living in Matamoras for close to four years. I came from Rockland County, NY which was bery expensive. We now own our home in Matamoras (no mortgage). If we stayed in Rockland, we probably would be in foreclosure because of the very high property taxes there. Matamoras is not perfect but it is fine for me. They just built a new elementary school near me.

Plus you don't have to worry about getting lost - very easy street grid!

I am actually surprised that the town has not grown quicker than it has - only because of it's close proximity to NJ and NY.

You can't get lost there. I've only been there once, but it was pretty quiet. I like quiet.
