Hi! I've never been to this mall but my sister told me they have an enormous train display. I can't find any information about it, but my son really loves trains. Has anyone been there and seen it? I'd be driving from the Blakeslee area and want to make sure it's worth a trip. I see that Thomas and friends are supposed to be there on 12/8 so that sweetens it a little too!

Its not a "train display" it is actually a national historic site dedicated to railroading adjacent to the Steamtown Mall.

Look here -> Steamtown National Historic Site - Steamtown National Historic Site

Sorry, but your wrong, there is an awesome train display on the 2nd floor of the Steamtown Mall , right before the food court entrance, it is to scale and has many of the historical buildings and attractions in miniature.. nay aug park, the Nicholson viaduct, the Lackawanna train station.. it is a dynamic display with the house lighting dimming for night scenes..
The Steamtown National Historic Park is directly behind the Mall , but the entrance is a couple blocks away... There is a overhead pedestrian bridge over Steamtown if you go directly thru the Food Court.

Thank you JohnQ! Is this there all the time, or is it a holiday thing? It sounds like it would be fun for all of us. The historic site is something I would love to do as well, but when he's a bit older.

Thank you so much I'm really looking forward to it. I think we'll hold off on the train ride for a while. I know there is one in Jim Thorpe too that we did before he came along. Right now we need short outings!

No need to be sorry. That's what I get for assuming....

Sorry about that, OP!
