Police choppers flying very low, started about 710pm tonight. I went to Dollar General in Mount Pocono earlier this afternoon and they had a sign on the door that they were only letting in 3 customers at a time n they locked you in the store. I was thinking this was a little too much i mean we are safer in numbers. But its scary how in some ways the whole area is in siege. I always said one man that has the skills and is on a mission is more dangerous then a whole gang. Stay safe people and hopefully this young man doesn't hurt anyone else. I know people aren't gonna probably like this but I'm gonna say it anyway. I feel for the police officer's and their families but also for this guys father and mother. So many broken hearts when things like this happen. God Bless all of us.

Because Frein is a survivalist; he could be anywhere. Residents and police are on high alert. There was one crook caught up in Shohola when neighbors reported a prowler. Anything, out of the ordinary, is being scrutinized. The response is massive - since our police will not take any chances.

The woods are massive between Frein's house and the Blooming Grove State Police barracks. One hunting camp alone owns 30,000 acres. Skytop has 6,000 acres and then you toss in the smaller camps and State Game lands.

What I am thinking is that he will make a mistake. He already made one when he drove his parent's Jeep into that swamp - I don't think that was planned. It is one thing to play survivalist and know that it will end and another thing to be a survivalist. Things can go wrong. There are rattle snake dens in that areas. There are quick mud/sand pits. There are plentiful briars and sharp rocks - ways to get infections. The area is loaded with ticks and mosquitos - Lyme disease and West Nile virus (survivalist skills will not help him recover). Our outdoorsmen do not spend 24/7 in the woods - they come home and can be treated for sickness and injuries (Frein cannot).

Though I'm in NJ for work this weekend the Police were flying sorties through Tobyhanna area again today. Neighbor says it seems more like they are heading to the lock down area on Snow Hill Rd. I went there 2 weeks ago to buy a snow blower from Craigslist... Crazy

Come on! NEPA's resident population has the greatest number of most heavily, and most frequently armed citizens in America, today! At any given time I would feel safe guesstimating that, at least, 20% of the men and women moving all around me while I'm out in public are, 'packing heat'.

The way things are I don't see NEPA ever becoming, something like, the bank robbery capitol of the Eastern United States. There are just too many guns in the hands of the general public. Many Pennsylvanians, also, know how to use firearms and are able to very well take care of themselves.

Look at the WalMart parking lot in East Stroudsburg: Over the past 10 years two armed robbers, there, have ended up getting shot by the very same people they were trying to hold-up. The residents of Monroe County just don't make good victims. If you want to get robbed, Stroudsburg isn't the right place; you've got to go to Philadelphia for that!

The Frein manhunt is beginning to take on epic - even mythic - proportions. This guy's not the bogeyman. Neither is he, 'Hannibal at the gates'. What's next? Are we, all, going to start looking under our beds before retiring at night?

Have Pennsylvanians forgotten how to fight? Have returned infantrymen forgotten how to run LRRP missions? Call off the massive (inordinately expensive) manhunt. Put out a dozen two man sniper teams: 6 stationary teams to be located at travel, 'choke points'; and 6 roving teams to just LURP their way through the woods. If the elusive (or should I say, 'illusive'?) Eric Frein is in there, he'll be found.

(Nobody needs to wear, 'Depends Diapers', either. By the way, where can a fellow get Latvian cigarettes in, or around, Promised Land State Park; or, maybe, State Game Lands #127 - Hmmm?)
