I’m looking for recommendations on this. I’ve been widowed for some time, and over the last four years been in a relationship with someone. We’ve decided to be married this June - assuming things allow for it. What I’m hoping for is a recommendation for a place that can support a small civil ceremony, a gathering of about 25 people after the ceremony for a celebratory meal, and lodgings for my soon to be and myself, along with lodgings for anyone in my group who may be coming in from outside the area.

I’d like something refined, with a beautiful setting, and among the most important things a location that can offer truly excellent food. A place that has a highly regarded kitchen, ideally using locally sourced ingredients. I’d like the whole thing to be great, of course, from the location to the view to the event and the service. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

The Lodge at Woodloch is rated 4 diamonds by AAA. Also might look at Skytop Lodge, the Chateau Resort and Conference Center, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort and farther afield, The Woodlands Resort outside of Wilkes-Barre.

Due to Covid19, severe restrictions are in place at most PA hotels. How they will affect a private wedding is another question.

Yes, I’ve been worried about what may be possible given the COVID situation.

Thanks for the recommendations so far. Anyone know anything about either the Ledges Hotel or the French Manor Inn?

The Ledges Hotel is located in part of the old Belmont Silk Mill outside of Hawley, PA. It hasn't been in existence that long. That's all I know.

The French Manor is rated 4 diamonds in the AAA Tour Guide. That's all that I know.

If you don't live too far away, why not spend a night to see how you like the places?

That's in my plan. I wanted to get some input from local folks to help out first.

Stroudsmoor Country inn located in Stroudsburg is a beautiful spot. They have both indoor and outdoor facilities for weddings. and their food is outstanding. You should go have dinner there. Friday Saturday and sunday they have a buffet.
