A rodeo would definitely be a different way to celebrate your special day. As a 21-year-old male most had expected me to go out and get completely trashed for my big milestone, but instead I headed to Mohegan Sun with a few extended relatives. I had a much better time watching senior citizens who whine about their property taxes puffing away on cigarettes and putting $50 bills into slot machines than I would have going to Twist and getting felt up or going on a pub crawl in Scranton and getting snookered.
While in Benton you'll be sure to want to scope out nearby Ricketts Glen State Park, along Route 118 about ten minutes east of town. If you're into the outdoors you'll love the Falls Trail, which permits intermediate hikers to walk up a trail beside various waterfalls in what I believe is honestly one of the nicest state parks in the region. Also not far from Benton is the quiet Sullivan County retreat of Eagles Mere, which sometimes has special events going on.
