Today, 2:30 pm, parking lot across from the Stegmeier Bldg., Wilkes Barre...???
We were up at the market today, and then headed over to Sam's Club. I'm not at all familiar with WB, so I hope I have the location correct.
The parking lot was filled with cars, regular cars, many with their doors opened, and parked in all different directions. People were milling about. There were several police cars there as well. Many people, including the police, appeared to be on cell phones.
It was a rather odd scene. Anyone know what was going on?

Probably a staging area or command post for the triple homicide suspect that was on the run?

Thanks. I was curious. Yeah, I forgot to mention the helicopter.
The people who were milling around looked as if a bus trip to Atlantic City had just arrived. I never would have guesses what was actually going on.

It's a bloody shame what happened. Some scum bag gunned down a 16-year-old boy along with a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man in Scranton's long-troubled SouthSide neighborhood. He also tied up several other people, including a man in a wheelchair and a 2-year-old toddler. He was caught in Wilkes-Barre, the city where Scranton's criminals seem to love to retreat to. This has to be Scranton's worst violent crime since at least 2000.

Normally You hear " a crime was commited in Scranton by an individual from Philadelphia or New YorK" but this time the perp was from Wilkes- Barre?? I wonder if he's originally from "the city"?

It was mentioned in the paper that he has ties to New York and Georgia. Why do these scumbags keep moving here?

It's to bad you can't screen people before moving in to your city. That's what would really slow down the crime in the area. That and carpet bombing all the low income projects, and replacing them with nice townhomes.
