What do you mean carpet repair? Like carpet cleaning (stains and such)? Usually if the carpet is ripped you would have to replace the whole thing.

O that would be helpful if I specified. I have berber in the basement and one of my boys pulled on a piece so I have an empty spot about 1' x 1" .

ROFL... that brings back a great memory. My buddies parents were out of town for the week and he had a small a party. Woke up in the morning and smack right in the middle of the floor is big cigarette burn... It was that short stiff carpet so it was very noticeable.

He has some extra pieces, we cut a nice square out with a knife where the burn was then superglued a piece in place. I think we used a piece of wood so we could superglue it right to the floor instead of the padding.

Anyhow they never found out....

Guess that wouldn't work for berber? That's woven isn't it?

While on the topic I'll give you tip for getting a giant wax blob out of carpet. Boil water in a pot, dump it on the wax and suck it up with a wet/dry shop vac.
