I am looking to rent a house in Saw Creek Estates for the summer but I am reading mixed reviews on the community. I need a community close to NYC as my husband will be commuting every day. I will be home alone with 2 kids. Is it safe? Any other suggestions with a somewhat easy commute to NYC would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why is Saw Creek a place I would not want to rent? Is it unsafe?

Here is another reason..

The place is filled with drugs

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 08, 2007
BUSHKILL - A seven-month sting led to the arrest of 12 adults and one juvenile in Saw Creek Estates on Tuesday, according to state police at Blooming Grove.
Drugs sold included powder and crack cocaine, PCP, ecstasy, marijuana and heroin, police said.

I dont know anything about Saw Creek Estates but I can tell you to take all of the gossip for what its worth. I live in the Hideout and before I moved here and even now so many call this a bad community. Now that I live here I can say that the GOSSIP is false. Its a beautiful community and all the talk was not true. Any problems that happened here were resolved. So if I were you I would talk to people that actually live in the community. Go visit the community and maybe you can rent for a weekend to check it out for yourself.

Years ago we were looking in Saw Creek. I wasnt impressed. Initially I thought it was a nice place ; lots to do etc. But It just didnt settle right with us after looking at a few properties.

We waited a few years, looked around in detail and settled on WLE. I love it there. The hideout was also nice. Both have good summer fun.

I actually found this on Saw Creek. Its worth reading. You might want to consider a community a little farther into NEPA. After reading this I would be concerned about the area. Good luck!!!
