We are moving to the Hawley area from out of state. Which cable network is the most popular for TV and internet? The current owners use Blue Ridge.

Blue Ridge is great! It affords you the local channels as well. We used to have Adams Cable in Lake Ariel and it was not my favorite. Also familiar with Directv and we are glad we switched to Blue Ridge. The internet is fast.

We also use BRC and have the combo pack with high speed internet, cable TV, and local/long distance phone service. We have not had any issues with them.

I use Blue Ridge and am satisfied - I use them for TV, internet, and telephone. I am a bit envious of my friend on Adams though, because her standard package includes channels we can only get if we upgrade to Digital Cable.

To my knowledge you really don't have a choice - the cable providers are in "territories." From Lakeville to Lake Ariel and that area, you have Adams Cable. Honesdale/Hawley/Milford/Lackawaxen Pike County area is Blue Ridge.

I suppose you can get something from Verizon, and of course there's DirectTV.

Because of the lousy choices on TV, I'm seriously considering dropping the TV part of our cable service and signing up for Netflix. Between that and Hulu.com I can watch what I want, not what the sponsors have chosen for the "demographic" they think is most profitable for them.

As posted above, you don't really have a choice if Blue Ridge is the cable company in your area, unless you want to go with DirecTV or satellite. We have Blue Ridge cable and internet and are happy with them.

We do this. You can actually buy a box from NetFlix and have the movies/shows play on your TV instead of the computer.

Do you have the box? Hubby and I considered getting one some time ago and didn't hear much about it. If you do, do you like it?

We just moved here two weeks ago. We have Comcast, and I have been very happy so far. Though I am not happy that they don't offer WGN Chicago/America - since I am a WWE wrestling fan and they broadcast a show on Thursday nights (which I should be watching right now.....).

It's fine service, the guy who came to hook us up was really nice - I just wish they offered the digital phone/voice - because we decided to go with Magic Jack - and I am not happy with that. Mainly because it's inconsistent - one call is fine, then you go to make another, and boom - it stinks.

Oh well. Comcast is fine so far.
