So Katyusha, how did it go? I hope you had a good interview and that you found some fun things to do in your spare time.

Hi Normie, so far, so good! Thanks for asking. My interview isn't actually until tomorrow. I flew in yesterday, but I was so exhausted, I just hung out in my hotel room.
Today though, I drove through RTC (didn't get out of the car), stopped at Tyson's Galleria, looked around and got a pedicure Then, I drove down to Old Town Alexandria, and that's where I spent most of my day. It was really lovely. I think I walked up and down almost all of (King Street, is it?), had lunch then spent another hour talking to this French lady that owns a couture store. It was really nice!

Is there another place similar to OT Alexandria, where it takes awhile to walk around? After my interview, I think I have the rest of the day to kill. I thought about driving up through Leesburg, since I've always wanted to see it. Ballston and Clarendon were mentioned; Are there places in Arlington that take awhile to traverse?

Thanks for checking on me!

katyusha25, re: what's similar to OT Alexandria? you may want to go to Georgetown if the weather is OK. It's in the District but close to Arlington. Just take the Key Bridge over the river and turn right on M Street. It MAY not be as hard to find parking there as usual - though this is high tourist season the students haven't returned yet.

There are many other places in the District that are great to visit, but I won't add these since you asked about NoVA.

If you want a small town feel, you may want to go to Del Ray, which is near Old Town.

What's in Georgetown?

Also, I just saw the Leesburg has an outlet store center! I might check that out, too.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Georgetown would be more fun, IMO. Leesburg outlet center is like any other outlet center.

Georgetown is great. You can spend some time there going through the unique shops as well as some "chain" type stores. That's what I would do.

Leesburg is just a typical outlet center like all the rest. I would only go to something like that if I lived in a one-stoplight town that had nothing.

ok, it's a little after 2pm; my interview lasted way longer than I though (I think it's a good sign).
Do you think it's too late for me to head to Georgetown? Also does anyone know how I can find an address over there so I can put something into my navigation system for directions?
