Highly suggest doing the internet chat with a comcast representative. Say that your bill is too high, is there anything they can do to lower it?

We would routinely knock $20-30 off our bill that way, in addition to getting things like a free dvr, free HBO, etc. We never paid more than $80/month for internet and HD cable with DVR last year.

I think there was no installation fee when I got my Fios. I thought they most always waived that.

55$ for internet only and I have to say it's awesome. Probably the fastest internet connection I've ever had.

Kill your cable. Most good shows can be found online now via Hulu, Netflix and some back alleys.

I hate Comcast and their rude customer service. Have you looked at Satellite internet by Winchester Wireless? Any idea how that service is?

That's a really nice price. My bundle is

Regular Fios TV (no HD channels), Fios Internet 10/2, and Phone

for $99.99

I've tried going to the site and signing up for a

Prime HD, Fios Internet 15/5, and Phone for $89.99 or $94.99 (they have both listed for some reason, same package different prices)

When I actually go to order it they say it's not actually available in my area (22032) which is very strange...

-----

Got FIOS the day it was available in our area too. Contract has run out, maybe I'll have to call them up and complain about why the pricing descrepancies are there.

Mind if I ask what zip code you're in Christine?

If you have Comcast and FIOS access at your address, tell Comcast you are going to end the service. About two weeks later they will phone you and make a deal. You just have to keep doing that, I know it is a pain, but they really do not want to lose a customer. You should be able to get the promotional rate all the time.

Verizon's site is pretty funky. Seems lots of the best bundle prices are for NEW customers only (long-time customers get hosed).

They have a nice bundle for existing customers (even says in the fine print that it's for people who purchase a new bundle) that's online only but never available when I try to go through the links to order.

Gonna have to call and find out more, apparently phone reps feign ignorance of the online specials or can't honor them as they're online only (which don't work online...).
