I tried to do a search for this in this forum, but nothing came up in Northern VA.

So...does anyone know of where any good flea markets are? I mean good ones (not-good ones implying garage sales that are labeled as flea markets.)

There's one in Arlington, the first Saturday of the month, run by the Civitan club. (Anybody planning his or her own yard sale, be sure not to do it on the Civitan sale date -- don't ask me how I know!)

Here's the link:

And there's one at Eastern Market every Sunday. Along with that is a good number of artists who display their work -- photography, jewelry and such.

Here's one more place you might want to check out. I happened to come across a mention of it in the Arlington Connection free newspaper I was perusing while waiting at Metro 29 Diner for lunch yesterday.

Arlington Urban Village (I've never been, but here's the listing):
"The Antiques and Collectibles Market at Court House is an open air market that has been going on since December 2002. Free parking at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. Featuring furniture, art, china, silver, jewelry, books, photographs, vintage clothing, linens, lamps, chandeliers, antique tools and other treasures. Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located on North 15th Street, next to the Courthouse parking lot. Sundays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Located at Courthouse parking lot."

This was mentioned in a feature called "Orange Line Connection" -- things to do around Metro's Orange Line stops.

Also on Saturdays at Courthouse is the Arlington Farmers Market, from 8 a.m. until noon. (The Rosslyn, Clarendon and Ballston farmers markets are on different days).

I went to the flea market at Dulles Expo this weekend; it was so huge, I got burnt out not even half way through! Anyway, everything I wanted was either hundreds of dollars are at least $1,000 - and the one thing I probably could afford that I wanted wasn't for sale.

I don't like flea markets anymore
