This spring in both areas and now, once again in Countryside, white powdery splotches are appearing on the path systems.......splotches every 20 feet or so. Just strange. Does anyone know what it is......I am more concerned for my dogs than myself. Thanks.

Beats me. Try taking a photo of it and asking the folks at Merrifield Garden Center. They're really good at identifying that sort of thing. Or maybe post it here if it seems more like an engineering issue than something growing in the summer heat. Just a wild guess that may be completely wrong, but it might have something to do with residue from mosquito control efforts.

We were also guessing some sort of pest control thingy but that doesn't make much sense either. Seems like a futile effort so why bother.

Not something growing either.....only thing that grows in this heat is the weeds, unfortunately!

Well, I contacted Countryside's HOA to ask if it was something they were doing. They said no........and had no clue. Said they would look into it if I wanted them to. Will wait and see what develops over the next couple months I guess.
