Hello, I will be travelling with my dad to northern Virginia at the end of next month for a wedding. We are from Arizona and have only been there once previously, in early May 2012. What type of weather should we prepare for and anticipate? We plan on doing a lot of sightseeing as well, so hopefully it's not too cold! Thanks!

The day will be warm but the evenings/nights will be chilly. You'll be comfortable walking around with jackets/hoodies.

Might be about the best time of year. Highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s on a normal day. Sometimes there are slow moving coastal storms that leave it rainy and chilly, but sunny days are more common.

Slightly different subject, but what is Sprint cell phone coverage like out there? We are wondering if we should rent a navigation unit for our rental car. We have our phones but we are on Sprint, so we want to see what kind of coverage they have.

Sprint is fine. I have Sprint for my work iPhone and it gets more bars than my personal AT&T cell phone does.

Verizon is the best around here but Sprint seems to work well enough. The end of October can see some pretty cold weather but generally not too cold. We've had snow in Oct. but it doesn't happen often. Like someone said, jacket/hoodies should be fine.

Sprint is mostly ok. I have trouble with my data/signal particularly in Ballston (Arlington near Glebe Rd and I-66)

YOU WILL NEED GPS HERE........make sure your telephone app is updated and ready to go. Googlemaps seems to be the best bet here, everyone w/ the iPhone complains about Apple's maps around here.

Thank you, everyone. Per my dad's request, we will get the GPS unit with the rental car. He said he would pay for it, so what my dad wants, my dad gets lol.

The free Waze app with Sprint will work perfectly fine.
