Yeah, this is often a key element. One needs to know the spots in the direct vicinity where it's easy for Uber drivers to pick up/drop off. I haven't taken a taxi in a long time. It's simply like 30% more expensive.
Metro from Union Station to Tyson's takes forever and requires a change. Also never know what surprise WMATA has in store and how that affects things. The problem with D.C. public transport is that it's good enough on paper to tempt people into using it, but bad enough to make you regret it more often than not.
