VRE - Spotsylvania to L'Enfant Plaza (Fredericksburg: pros and cons, vehicle, station)

Does anyone do the daily VRE commute from Spotsylvania to L'Enfant Plaza? If so, can you tell me more about your experience with taking the VRE from such a long distance? What are the PROS and CONS?

I'm thinking about doing so. I'm also looking into taking the express VRE from the Fredericksburg station to L'Enfant Plaza.

I was told I won't have a life due to the long daily commute, but that's not much of a loss for me since I don't have much of a social life anyway.

I do it every once in a while when I have to go into DC. It beats being stuck on I95. It can be costly. I prefer the Spotsylvania station over the Fredricksburg one as the parking in Fredricksburg is a PITA.

I personally wouldn't want to do this daily as it's like a 2 hour commute from door to door one way. I'd waste 4 hours of my life a day just in commuting.

Pro - You won't put a lot of mileage on your vehicle...
