Do you think Northern Virginia will split from the rest of the state?

The OPs question on likely that VA will split. I think we would see Colorado or Maryland split first. It's one thing for a state to be.divided, look at poor Jackson hole, Wyoming in the sea of Red. But in Maryland and a few other states, politicians are changing the districts so that portions of Baltimore stretch nearly to Hagerstown. That's enough political meddling where folks will say enough is enough. In NOVA, you simply have a split state with voting blocks and not politicians trying to water down the votes by merging political differences. A state will not split over cultural differences. Research why West.Virginia split from Virginia and it wasnt because of wine drinkers over moonshine.

Uh huh... that explains why the state votes 52-48 blue when individual districts dont matter (see Democratic president and 2 democratic senators as well as new governor) but our house of delegates is 67-32 republican.

The fact that Northern Virginia is so different from the rest of the state isn't a bad thing IMO. Culturally it's more of a suburb of DC than it is Virginia so when people ask I do typically say I'm from Northern Virginia rather than Virginia but it's not really anything personal, it's just an easier way of describing where I'm from.
