Thanks! I didn't think about the impact of the last few bad weather weekends. I'm sure that's had an effect on the cookie sales. Hopefully, blue skies ahead!

Here's a link to the local Girl Scout web site, on which you can search for grocery store and similar sales: Little Brownie Bakers -- Cookie Locator.

Updating: WHERE can I get them? (I can't/don't want to get out this weekend w/the weather) - I checked the website and they were supposed to be at the Pickett St. P.O. but they weren't - I checked the Giant on Edsall since I was close, no luck. I also checked the Giant on Duke St. (the old Hechinger location) - It was such a nice day I was sure they'd be at the P.O. today.

I have cases of them at my house! Our troop needs to sign up for another booth sale since we have too many cookies. But the booth sales are mainly done on Saturday and Sunday (but there are some Friday night ones too).

But that won't help you. Go here and you can find booths: Little Brownie Bakers -- Cookie Locator

Type in your zip code.

If all else fails, send me a message and I will see if we can arrange a drop.

They are addictive. Though surprisingly enough, I am sick of them. In 2006, the Girl Scouts and various organizations were kind enough to send endless supplies of their cookies to us Afghanistan. They were everywhere. Even a bunch of hungry Soldiers couldn't eat them faster than they were coming in. To reduce the backlog, we would pass them out to Afghans as we patrolled villages. Maybe not the best choice considering the lack of dentists.

They won't even let us send cookies now (unless you know someone in the military) for that reason. Last year we gave donated cookies to a women and children's homeless shelter in Fairfax.

You're not allowed to send them to Afghanistan because of the volume of years past or there was concern they were being given to Afghans?

I assure you, it was appreciated. We simply couldn't keep up with how many pallets were coming in. I don't know it's possible to not like thin mints or samoas, so we knew the Afghans would like them. I was trying t be a bit funny about "promoting tooth decay" but looking back on it, we weren't doing them any favors.
