For all you new residents who just moved here... you've heard that blizzard's are not the norm. But you may be wondering what IS the norm. Last night's storm is the norm, IMO. It's what you can expect from most Virginia snowfalls in the years to come.

It's typical that we'll get an announcement the day before of 1-4 inches, but in reality it's an inch of snow and a lot of it melts quickly.

Yesterdays' snow was what I usually enjoy, this year though, the novelty has worn off, LOL

I agree! I have been blaming Puxatawney Phil for the bad weather, but El Nino is probably the bigger culprit!

Hopefully the same thing happens for the beginning of next week. Anybody else leary of that possible system?

I am. I have a very important trip to Arkansas next week, and I really don't need more snow to mess things up.

I've heard some weather forecasters say that we are just in a snowy weather pattern this year and....we can expect another major storm before it's all over.

But don't worry. Next year, we'll have 60 & 70 degree days in Jan.

Another major storm is ok, as long as it waits until after March 2md, when I'm back from my trip.

If we can make it to March without a major storm, I think we'll be out of the woods altogether.

I don't remember ever having a significant storm around here in March.

Of course, this year anything could happen.

I remember a few March storms that left a few inches of snow. In other years that would be significant. (Not this year, of course, LOL)

I hope you all are right and there won't be another winter like this one for a long time. If we end up coming back for a 2 yr assignment I don't want to have to deal with all the snow. The first snow in Dec was okay but all the rest you guys have had was to much.
